Kent St., transit agency, local officials partner to save funds

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio — A collaborative agreement that will see dump trucks transporting tons of dirt between the sites of two downtown Kent redevelopment projects will save Kent, Kent State University (KSU) and the Portage Area Regional Transportation Authority (PARTA) thousands of dollars, according to RecordPub.Com.

PARTA officials said the cost-saving idea sprung from a weekly meeting between the downtown redevelopment partners where KSU and city officials related that they needed dirt to raise the university’s Esplanade walkway extension. For the full story, click here.
