NEWARK, N.J. — With a decision being made to curtail payouts to non-union workers after 2010's $3.67 million total, New Jersey Transit (NJ Transit) paid $4.112 million last year in payouts to workers for unused sick and vacation time, according to a Daily Record report.
Officials in Gov. Chris Christie's administration said they're looking to end such payouts for public employees, preferring a "use it or lose it" policy for vacation time and using sick time for illness only. For the full story, click here.
