ATLANTA — Voters in 10 Metro Atlanta counties voted overwhelmingly against a 1% sales tax for regional transportation projects, according to PBA-30.

The “Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax” supporters knew it was a tough sell, but told PBA-30 they were shocked by the margin of defeat, which with seven out of 10 counties reporting, was 63% to 37%.
