WASHINGTON, D.C. — NPR reported that starting Jan. 1, the tax break for transit commuters may be cut nearly in half, from $245 per month to $130 per month, unless Congress votes to keep the transit subsidy equal to the parking subsidy. Oregon Rep. Earl Blumenauer has gotten support from five House Republicans and 44 fellow Democrats to co-sponsor legislation that would do just that.
