NEWARK — New Jersey Transit’s (NJ Transit) board approved the purchase of 63 new compressed natural gas (CNG) buses from Motor Coach Industries (MCI) at a cost of $41 million, according to the Asbury Park Press.

The 63 buses, to be built by MCI, would replace the current fleet of 14-year-old buses fueled by CNG, which are now in service on Route 9. NJ Transit approved the purchase of 84 similar buses last September for $57.1 million. For the full story, click here.
