WASHINGTON, D.C. — Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the U.S. Department of Transportation stopped its review of a $5.5 billion loan request for Xpress West, a proposed high-speed rail line that would connect Las Vegas and Southern California.

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis) have both raised concerns about the project. They told the paper that their staffs were told that “serious issues persist” with the application and that there are “significant uncertainties still surrounding the project.” For the full story, click here.
