LaHood unveils 2009 distracted driving fatality, injury numbers

In a Sunday op-ed for the Orlando Sentinel, Secretary LaHood revealed the latest statistics, but cautioned that researchers believe the epidemic of distracted driving is likely far greater than currently known.

Study: Wheelchair passengers' injuries due to misuse of restraints

Accident data showed that in most of the crashes the wheelchairs were secured, however, seat belts weren't always used or fastened the right way; and in some instances, people slid from under lap belts and were injured.
