‘Leadership Circle’ brings together transportation, tech visionaries

At ITS America, we are all about using technology to solve America’s transportation challenges. As federal and state budgets shrink, traffic gets worse and our roads and bridges continue getting older, we decided it was time to rethink how we address our nation’s transportation goals for the future. Out of this thinking, we created the ITS America Leadership Circle.

The Intelligent Transportation Systems industry has been developing smart parking systems that can mitigate the problem by providing drivers, businesses, and metropolitan authorities the information they need to reduce wasted time, energy and money.

Connected Vehicles: An important step forward for the transit community

NHTSA estimates that a connected vehicle network could potentially address 80% of all unimpaired crash scenarios, a safety leap exceeding even seat belts and airbags. The Research and Innovative Technology Administration and FTA are working with transit agencies and stakeholders to advance connected vehicle applications that will help improve safety, mobility and convenience for transit riders.
