Metrolink awards inward-facing camera contract

The cameras will record all engineer and other staff activity for forensic and investigative purposes and is designed to serve as a deterrent to the type of unauthorized activities that were revealed at the NTSB's hearing on last fall's Chatsworth collision.

Safety measures increased after crash

Following the Sept. 12 Metro­link rail accident in Chatsworth, Calif., the operation has taken steps to bolster its safety measures, including adding a crewmember in the lead cab and making equipment and track improvements.
