N.C. Transit Agency Bans So-Called 'Saggy Pants' on Buses

Recently, the N.C.-based City of Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA) adopted a new rule that calls for people who wear so-called “saggy pants” to pull them up or risk being barred from riding the system.

Orange County commissioners voted to remove a rule that would have allowed Orange County transit services to use up to 50% of funds for existing transit projects instead of for expanding new services. Will move forward with plans to expand bus service and build a light rail service.

The Bull City Connector was launched last year to connect students to downtown Durham. Daily ridership is about 1,500, which is 500 less than the goal. Most riders appear to be locals and campus staff instead of students.
