Railquip Inc. developed a new line of portable railcar movers for moving rolling stock within a maintenance facility and, especially, for moving locomotives and other rolling stock over underfloor wheel lathes or wheel truing machines for wheel reprofiling.
Railquip's Battery Powered Maxi Railcar Mover utilizes its full traction weight on the drive wheels to pull 350 tons of trailing load on straight and level track. Its four electric motors, including stepless adjustable control for the individually driven wheel, allow car movement in both directions.
It is available with stationary or on-board battery charger in customer's option and equipped with two rechargeable high performance batteries of 40 V/320AH capacity each.
