Beginning February 5, riders of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will have a money-back guarantee option if they are unsatisfied with their ride. The Ride Happy or Ride Free program places customer feedback postcards in each of the RTA’s 850 buses and 108 railcars.

If a customer is dissatisfied with the ride, the RTA will send him a farecard good for one free ride. “There is not a stronger action you can take to tell your customers that you care about them,” said RTA GM Joe Calabrese, who introduced a similar program in Syracuse, N.Y. “This is a very aggressive step, and not one that many transit agencies will take.”
