Cummins Westport Inc. received orders for a total of 62 low-emissions natural gas engines for transit service in three cities in Asia. These orders, which will be delivered by March 2003, include both B5.9G-230 horsepower engines and C Gas Plus engines. Cummins Westport's largest customer in Asia remains Beijing, which has approximately 2,000 B5.9G engines in transit bus service. The five Asian cities that have purchased natural gas engines operate a combined total of more than 35,000 transit buses.
