The Annapolis Department of Transportation started a new volunteer transportation program, Ride Partners, that provides long distance and recurrent volunteer transportation to older and disabled adults in and around the Annapolis area. The program was developed through a partnership between the city of Annapolis, Partners In Care and Volunteer Maryland. Trips qualifying for the program must meet one of the following qualifications: a total of 50 or more miles round trip; go out of county and total 25 or more miles round trip; or occur three or more times per week, to the same location. Mileage reimbursement will be provided to Ride Partners volunteer drivers from contributions, based on mileage, from the passenger.
