Springfield, Mass.-based Peter Pan Bus Lines purchased 16 new coaches, manufactured by Motor Coach Industries (MCI), at a total cost of $6.4 million. The $425,000, 45-foot coaches feature seating for 54 and include six-monitor flat-screen video systems, DVD players, wheelchair lifts and Amerex fire suppression systems. Tiered seating, individual overhead lights and airflow controls are also featured in the J4500 model MCI. Peter Pan will use the new vehicles for its daily regular route business throughout the Northeast Corridor. Including this purchase, the company has added 65 new coaches to the fleet over the past five years.
