TORONTO, Ontario — A top GO Transit official defended sending the train into the valley in the pouring rain, even though the Toronto Conservation Authority had already warned of flooding in low-lying areas, reported the National Post. The train was stuck in high waters Monday evening stranding hundreds of passengers.
The previous train, which left Union at 5 p.m., was poised to reach Richmond Hill on time at 5:43 p.m., and Toronto Police hadn't reported any track disturbances, according to the report. For the full story, click here.
