SEATTLE — King County building owners will soon be able to rent out their unused parking spaces as King County Metro Transit looks for new ways to get people riding public transit, reported the Puget Sound Business Journal.
A pilot program, beginning next year, between King County Metro and Diamond Parking will allow building owners and property managers to rent out parking spaces near frequent transit services and park and rides, provided they’re attached to multi-family and mixed-used residential developments, the report said.
The program could help decrease the number of vehicles on the road and increase Metro’s ridership, reported the Puget Sound Business Journal.
