PITTSBURGH — With an overhaul and simplification of its two-zone fare policy kicking in Jan. 1, Port Authority of Allegheny County officials have plans to blitz clients with an informational campaign, which will include on-bus audio messages, billboards, social media, and more, the Tribune-Review reports.

In April, board members approved sweeping changes to the agency's fare policy, including the replacement of multiple fare zones with a single-zone fare. Officials have cited requests for a simpler, easier-to-use transit system as an impetus for the overhaul and hope the easier system leads to increased ridership. For the full story, click here.
