Multi-Contact, an international manufacturer of electrical contacts and connection systems, changed the name of its organization to Stäubli Electrical Connectors Inc. The name change reflects the organization’s connection with the Stäubli Group, a company recognized for sustainable reliability, long-term partnership, technological innovation, and excellent sales and service expertise.

Multi-Contact was founded in Basel, Switzerland, in 1962. The parent company, Stäubli, provides innovative mechatronics solutions in the fields of electrical and fluid connectors, robotics, and textile. Multi-Contact USA was established in 1982 and has been a part of the Stäubli Group since 2002.

“The Stäubli name stands for superior service and quality,” said Ian Pratt, CEO of Stäubli Electrical Connectors. “We are proud to produce the safest and highest-quality connectors available, delivering our customers the clean, consistent performance that has made us the most-trusted brand in the industry.”

The company’s proprietary Multilam technology creates an industry-leading electrical connection due to a design that features multiple contact points to safely improve connection and energy transfer.

As a pioneer and global market leader for connectors, the company has amassed more than 20 years of experience in the photovoltaics (PV) industry. During this time, more than 50% of the PV power worldwide has been successfully installed using more than one billion of the company’s MC4 connectors.

The CombiTac modular connector system is one of the company’s best-known products, offering a wide range of combinations of contact types including power, signal, thermocouple, coaxial, fiber optic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and bus connections in a compact frame.

The Stäubli Group has more than 4,500 employees in 25 countries, and a network of agents in more than 50 countries. This year, the group will celebrate its 125-year anniversary.

Stäubli Electrical Connectors Inc., will showcase its line of innovative solutions at DistribuTECH in San Diego, Jan. 31 through Feb. 2.
