The Metropolitan Tulsa Transit Authority (MTTA) announced that Ted Rieck will serve as the new GM for Tulsa Transit effective September 1.

Rieck has over 20 years of transit experience spanning operations, planning, technology, and community partnerships.

Prior to Tulsa Transit, Rieck served as the CEO of the Indianapolis Transit System (Metro) and since served as a consultant both independently as well as with national architect, engineering, and planning firms.

As a consultant, Rieck has led, often involving stakeholder and governing bodies, a wide variety of projects ranging from corridor studies, management and operational reviews, regional transit planning, as well as statewide transit need assessments.

Rieck also played lead roles in 16 transit facility projects that included feasibility and environmental studies that led to advanced design and construction. He also served as Vice-Chair of the Kansas City Regional Transit Alliance and currently represents the Third District on the Johnson County Transportation Council.

Rieck holds a Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst College in Missouri, Master of City and Regional Planning from Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Hampshire. He also attended the National Transit Institute with an emphasis in Management of Transit Construction Projects and Managing the Environmental Process.
