GREENSBURG, Pa. — National Express Transit received new five-year contracts to operate the Westmoreland County Transit Authority’s fixed-route bus and door-to-door shared-ride paratransit services, the Tribune-Review reports.

National Express, which has operated the authority’s fixed-route system since 2010, furnishes drivers, mechanics, maintenance, and management services for the authority as part of the contract.

The fixed-route system carries about 500,000 passengers annually, while the paratransit system provided 195,000 door-to-door rides to senior citizens, low income, and handicapped passengers last year. For the full story, click here.
