NEW YORK — With laws preventing electric scooters and throttle e-bikes in the city, a new startup called Revel is bringing 68 electric mopeds that will be scattered throughout Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Bushwick in Brooklyn, Curbed New York reports.

Users can rent mopeds for short periods via Revel’s app, with the first 20 minutes costing $4, and the price going up incrementally after that. To use the service, users must have a valid driver’s license and also have to pass a background check.

Revel also provides helmets with each bike and offers a how-to class so users can learn the ways of the moped. Users are also expected to comply with the city’s regulations for cars, including no riding on the sidewalk or in bike lanes. For the full story, click here.
