A fully autonomous, electric shuttle manufactured by French firm NAVYA will be introduced at Mcity, the University of Michigan’s one-of-a-kind test site for connected and automated vehicles. The vehicle will be used to provide tours of Mcity and to support autonomous vehicle research, initially through TechLab at Mcity, U-M’s incubator for mobility startups. The AV passenger shuttle will run a fixed-route stopping at designated stops within an office park. The pilot will begin with two vehicles — each with a customer service agent onboard for passenger questions and information.
