N.Y. to conduct more bus safety probes

ALBANY, N.Y. — After Gov. Andrew Cuomo suspended the operating licenses of eight charter and tour bus companies due to repeatedly failing safety inspections, the Governor and state Legislature are creating a new bus inspection program which will target the operators with the worst safety records with more inspections, boston.com reported.  

Last year, the New York Department of Transportation added unannounced inspections to the typical 160,000 conducted every year. For the full story, click here.
