Motor Coach Industries (MCI), the U.S. subsidiary of New Flyer Industries Inc., announced Coach Atlantic, a leading Canadian Maritimes’ transportation provider, signed an order for two 2019 MCI J4500 coaches in the MCI booth during the United Motorcoach Association Expo.

The agreement follows the Prince Edward Island-based charter operator’s order last year for 13 J4500s signed at UMA Expo in 2017. “We are honored that Coach Atlantic made the trip to UMA Expo, and chose to once again invest in MCI technology to support their growing business,” said Patricia Ziska, MCI New Coach Sales VP. “The 2019 MCI J4500 builds on a suite of improvements made for our impressive 2018 model year coach.”

With its latest order, Coach Atlantic has opted for Cummins’ newest engine, 360-degree cameras, new sleekly-styled Amaya seating for 56 passengers for best-in-class legroom, and 110-volt power outlets and USB ports. The two new 2019 MCI J4500 coaches will be delivered in August.

“We’ve started a great relationship with MCI, and as a market leader, it’s important for us to make sure our customers get the newest and best equipment available,” said Matt Cassidy, Coach Atlantic VP, finance. “Accomplishing that successfully has to do with putting the best and most efficient equipment on the road, and we really believe in the MCI J4500.”

The strategy also has enabled its clients’ growth and success noted Cassidy. “One of our tour operators has told us that by our exceptional service, professional drivers, and newest equipment, they have grown their own business rapidly and project a 100 percent increase in trips from the previous year. We’re very proud to be part of the reason for their accomplishments.”

More than 300 of Coach Atlantic’s dedicated, professional employees manage its exceptional service and operate 200 vehicles with daily, weekly, and seasonal bus services for charter, line-run, public school, and municipal transit customers. Besides moto coaches, the company’s fleet includes school buses, passenger vans, mini-coaches, a luxury SUV, and even two double-decker buses for groups as small as 10 or as large as 2,000.
