National Express Transit Corp. acquired Fox Bus Lines Inc., also known as Silver Fox Coaches, a provider of motorcoach transportation in the Boston area. The new acquisition allows National Express to further expand its base of retail and contracted coach operations in a key market.

Silver Fox Bus Lines was founded more than 40 years ago, owned and operated by the second generation of the Fox family. Three of the siblings, Bill, Brian, and Steve Fox, will continue to operate the business. Operating 30 vehicles, the business is located west of Boston in Millbury, Mass., and ideally located in the heart of New England.

Silver Fox’s largest customer is the Massachusetts Port Authority, also known as MASSPORT, which it has served for the past 25 years. MASSPORT is the agency responsible for the operation of Boston’s Logan Airport (among others) and Silver Fox operates the contract for the Framingham Logan Express.
