DENTON, Texas — Denton County Transportation Authority board members recently approved fee packages for what University of North Texas and other college students, faculty and staff will pay to use the 21-mile passenger rail line a la carte or to connect to Dallas Area Rapid Transit and Fort Worth Transportation Authority, DentonRC.com reported.

College students would pay $175 for a semester of local service or $250 for a semester of regional service, which would include connections with Dallas and Fort Worth rail and bus services. Faculty and staff would pay $250 for a semester of local service, or $340 for a semester of regional service. Some students and faculty members argue that the fees are too steep.
