VANCOUVER — In an effort to stem an increase in driver assaults, Coast Mountain Bus Co. drivers are again calling for more transit police on buses, Vancouver Sun reported.

The push comes on the heels of a court appearance of a man accused of attacking Translink driver Charles Dixon, who has suffered mild to moderate brain damage, short-term memory loss and back injuries from the assault. A TransLink driver is, on average, assaulted almost every other day in metropolitan Vancouver, usually over fare disputes. For the full story, click here.
