ALBANY, N.Y. — Joseph Lhota, a former New York City deputy mayor, was unanimously confirmed as the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority's chairman and CEO. Lhota who was chosen by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to replace fromer MTA Chairman Jay Walder in October, promised to work to streamline the nation's largest mass transit system, the Wall Street Journal reported.
