FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Sun Sentinel reported that city commissioners approved a plan to tax downtown property owners for the next 25 years to help pay for the proposed Wave electric streetcar system, despite some criticism.

The $142.6 million, 2.7-mile long system is being paid for mostly with federal and local funds. However, it also requires $20.6 million from area property owners. For the full story, click here.
