TUCSON, Ariz. — The Daily Wildcat reported that the city is working with the University of Arizona, Tucson to educate the community about safety precautions while sharing the road with the new Sun Link Tucson Streetcar.

The streetcar’s public relations team has been visiting different campus groups and the Visitors Center to discuss streetcar safety and show a public-service announcement. The team also created an online safety campaign, “Streetcar Street-Smart,” which provides videos and tips on how to safely maneuver along the corridor. Meanwhile, the university is working with the city to continue weekly classes to teach bicyclists how to bike safely along the tracks.

The streetcar was recently tested on campus for the first time and will be tested more often in the upcoming months as more streetcar vehicles arrive. For the full story, click here.
