LUBBOCK, Texas — A downtown developer said a monorail connecting Texas Tech University and the downtown area of Lubbock could be part of a new era of growth in the region, reported the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

Delbert McDougal, whose contract was recently extended by the City Council, has a plan that would increase Tech’s presence in the district and add student housing and accommodations for several thousand people living downtown.
