HONOLULU — As a result of a lawsuit filed by former Gov. Benjamin Cayetano, former City Council Chair and Retired Judge Walter Heen, and five other plaintiffs, e-mails between the Federal Transit Authority (FTA) and the City & County of Honolulu have surfaced, which point out the FTA’s concern with the proposed $5.3 light rail project, according to Hawaii Reporter.
Cayetano, Heen and the others are suing the City & County of Honolulu and FTA because they disagree that heavy rail technology is the most environmentally-friendly transportation alternative for Honolulu. For the full story, click here.
