NEWARK, N.J.  — NJ Transit executive director Jim Weinstein defended Gov. Chris Christie’s decision to scrap the Access to the Region’s Core tunnel, telling The Star-Ledger the project was terminated based on a recommendation from a committee headed by Weinstein and that New Jersey couldn’t afford it.

However a Government Accountability Office report said that the governor inflated the cost estimates of the Hudson River rail tunnel project. For the full story, click here.
