VANCOUVER, Wash. — A Vancouver City Councilor proposed a “head tax” for C-Tran, which would tax local employers $1 to $2 a month per employee and raise the $2.5 million in revenue needed annually to run and maintain a new Washington MAX line, KATU.com reported.
The tax is being proposed as an alternative to a hike in the sales tax, the method favored by the C-Tran board of directors for paying for operating the downtown light rail service. For the full story, click here.
