CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolyn Flowers, chief executive of the Charlotte Area Transit System, said the five-year-old light-rail line has led to $18.8 million in tax revenue along the corridor, reports the Charlotte Business Journal.

The 9.6-mile, $463 million Lynx line opened in November 2007. Construction on an expansion project, known as the Blue Line Extension, will begin in January 2014, using $580 million awarded by the federal government in October. To read the full story, click here.
