OTTAWA — A study released by the National Capital Commission concluded that transit systems in Ottawa and Gatineau should eventually merge, starting with working together on a new O-Train route that would loop through both cities’ downtowns, according to the Ottawa Citizen.

The “downtown circulator” would mainly serve tourists and federal government workers and would be much more efficient than the current OC Transpo and Société de transport de l'Outaouais bus runs through the shared core of the capital now, said the study on an interprovincial transit strategy.
