Va. could see 3rd daily train route by 2017

RICHMOND, Va. — The transportation secretary of Virginia said the state hopes to debut the third daily passenger train through Lynchburg by 2017, reported The Roanoke Times.

Plans for a third train came together quickly this year amid talks over how to ease congestion on U.S. 29 through Charlottesville after a long-planned but contentious bypass was declared a dead-end. The train, as envisioned, would depart from Lynchburg and head to Washington, D.C. and New York before returning the next day. For the full story, click here.
