NEW YORK — A Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) worker was burnt and temporarily blinded by the third rail in the Bronx Monday afternoon, the New York Post reported.

Track worker Joe Williams was installing wire track baskets at the elevated St. Lawrence Avenue stop on the 6 line when a basket made contact with the third rail about noon.

Williams, a 16-year transit veteran was blinded at first, and suffered third-degree burns on his right wrist, forearm and elbow from the high voltage. For the full story, click here.
