NJ Transit to vote on inward facing cameras on locomotives, railcars

NEWARK, N.J. — New Jersey Transit board members will vote on a $7 million contract Wednesday to install inward facing cameras in locomotives and railcars with engineer's cabs, NJ Advance Media reported.

Inward facing cameras were recommended by the National Transportation Safety Board after several train crashes, including Amtrak derailment outside Philadelphia that killed eight and injured 200 passengers.
