Re-railing a derailed LIRR train
Footage of Long Island Rail Road crews working to re-rail train cars that derailed on March 18, 2013 in Rego Park, Queens.
The derailment has caused rush-hour train cancelations this week that are expected to come to an end Friday evening. Crews have been working around the clock first to re-rail the train, and now to repair 3,700 feet of damaged tracks, including third rail, running rails, and concrete ties.
