D.C. Streetcar - Operator Training

RDMT, the contractor who will operate DC Streetcar, has been busy training the 14 operators hired at the Testing and Commission Facility in Anacostia. The goal is to have 22 total operators hired for passenger service. So far, they've done a classroom course and in-vehicle training at the test track.

Transit police statistics show aggravated assaults were up by 38%, an increase from 48 to 66 incidents compared to the same period the year prior. MBTA Transit Police is seeking to determine the reason for the increase, but say a broad trend has been hard to find.

Former Toronto transit CEO to review recent SkyTrain issues

Gary McNeil has been hired to evaluate what happened and TransLink’s response to the shutdowns. The review will also look at what steps can be taken to prevent major service disruptions and changes to procedures and equipment that would enable the SkyTrain system to resume full service more quickly.
