A seasoned and highly regarded transportation professional whose work has taken him across three continents over nearly three decades, Andy Byford joins NYC Transit after a widely hailed five-year stint as the CEO of the Toronto Transit Commission.
Will include a 90-day temporary waiver from the ELD requirement for transporters of agricultural commodities, formal guidance specifically pertaining to the existing Hours-of-Service exemption for the agricultural industry, and guidance on the “personal conveyance” provision.
The Challenge sought to identify the nation’s most visionary municipal transit agencies and reward them with the expertise, planning resources, data analytics, and predictive modeling to help stimulate demand-driven, flexible transit in the communities they serve.
The project will be supported in part by a $1.35 million from Mobility on Demand Sandbox grant from the Federal Transit Administration FTA.
Each year, the James A Ditch Educational Fund promotes careers in public transit by accepting applications for scholarships from college students enrolled in automotive/transportation courses.
