Prime Policy Group, UMA’s government relations firm, has scheduled more than 300 individualized appointments for members to meet with Congressional elected officials to discuss key legislative issues affecting the motorcoach industry.
The goal with its new site is to provide a more functional and interactive place for members and the general public to learn about the motorcoach industry and have access to resources.
In their meetings, UMA members shared information about their own businesses and rallied for backing of three critical needs: opposition of FMCSA's proposal to raise the Federal financial responsibility limits, support of Rep. Barletta's proposal to remove CSA scores from public view until the data used to calculate the score can be improved, and support to preserve the current charter service rule.
Message points included federal minimum financial responsibility limits, preservation of charter bus protections, return to zero federal fuel tax for over-the-road buses, increased opportunities for contracting with local transit agencies and a host of regulatory reforms.
The event gathers owners and senior management from bus and motorcoach companies to meet with their Congressional elected officials to discuss the industry's most pressing legislative issues.
