The only official reference book of its kind for law enforcement and the motor carrier industry, the OOSC is a valuable tool designed to improve commercial motor vehicle safety by promoting uniformity in compliance and enforcement throughout North America.

CVSA names Colo. State Patrol major as president

Major Mark Savage served as the CVSA VP for 2011-2012. Also elected Sergeant Thomas Fuller from the New York State Police as VP and Captain William Reese from the Idaho State Police as secretary/treasurer.

Motorcoach out-of-service levels at all-time low

At lowest levels since the CVSA's commercial vehicle safety enforcement campaign, Roadcheck began in 1988. Inspections of passenger vehicles found a compliance rate of 91.3 percent in 2011 versus 91.0 percent in 2010. The motorcoach driver compliance rate was 97.4 percent; in 2010 it was 96.4 percent.

CVSA taps new executive director

Stephen A. Keppler has 18 years of experience in the transportation industry. He has been employed with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance since 2000 in the position of Director of Policy and Programs and most recently as its Interim Executive Director.

Mixed results for Operation Safe Driver campaign

Despite some improvements, results also showed an increase in moving traffic warnings and citations for all drivers, which shows more work is needed to educate both passenger and commercial vehicle drivers about operating their vehicles more safely.
