EnerDel featured two new products, including the MHPS, which uses an onboard battery energy storage system (BESS) as the normal source to the load, enabling it to more quickly and efficiently adjust to load fluctuations than traditional engine driven generators.
The transit authority will use the company’s lithium-ion batteries on its 16 new hybrid-electric fuel cell buses. Twelve of the buses will be used by a consortium of Bay Area transit operators in the California Air Resources Board's only Advanced Zero-Emission Bus Demonstration program.
