Tickets purchased through the web portal contain a secure barcode that is scanned onboard by inspectors using a Masabi app.
The partnership will also see Swiftly’s real-time vehicle data solution integrated into Masabi’s Justride ticketing applications, when requested by the transit agency.
The app is available for The Breeze, the recently launched Hilton Head Island public trolley service, as well as the bus services Palmetto Breeze provides.
The Metrolink App is powered by Masabi’s Justride Mobility Platform.
The two companies will also be working together to offer the integration to new cities around the globe.
Users will be able to browse fare types, make payments, and receive mobile tickets — all within the same app they already use for real-time information and multimodal journey planning.
