The transaction represents an enterprise value of $1.6 billion for Proterra.
An additional 10 units will be shipped to the U.S. in the first half of 2021. The all-electric CX45E will then be delivered to two North American customers.
The new battery production line will manufacture Proterra’s industry-leading battery packs featuring new, next generation cells and will create dozens of new jobs in Los Angeles County.
