Every MI09 can transport up to 2,600 passengers at maximum speeds of approximately 75 miles per hour. Each train is made up of five cars, each equipped with three large doors on either side to facilitate passenger exchange in the stations.
The new trains — set to be delivered during 2017 — will operate on the RER line A, which carries 1.2 million passengers per day, making it the busiest regional line in Europe.
The trains are an additional order in the framework of an ongoing contract signed in 2010 and is valued at approximately $484 million. Delivery of the new trains will start from September 2017 and the trains will operate on Line R of the Parisian suburban network.
