The agency was able to send five vehicles for the transport of 10 wheelchair passengers from a medical facility in Corpus Christi, Texas to a shelter in San Antonio. They are also offering free passes and travel training to those people that are in shelters in Austin.
The agency was able to get about 20 bus routes back on line today along with a portion of its rail, according to a spokesperson.

The contract for this new order of XD40’s is valued at approximately $46.8 million and will be used to replace some of METRO’s transit buses that have reached the end of their useful life. Delivery of these buses is planned for 2018.
The buses will be manufactured in Plattsburgh, state of New York, and the delivery of the vehicles has already begun in Houston.
Set to launch in January, the program will allow those riders that use MetroLift paratransit buses to ride those buses to a transit center and then transfer to a regular fixed-route bus
